NEW POLICY: DELIVERIES TO SHHS

Shadow Hills High School is a closed campus. We limit interruption of our normal business hours by not accepting any type of deliveries for students, unless medically necessary. Delivery of food from delivery services will not be permitted, i.e. UberEats, Post Mates, etc...Flowers, balloons, gifts, food, etc. brought to school must be checked in at the Discipline Office and will be available for pick-up after school. School personnel are not permitted to accept or hold money or personal items on behalf of students. The school does not allow the delivery of food and beverages from outside vendors or fast food establishments for a student's breakfast or lunch meal. All meals are to be provided by the school's Nutrition Services or a prepared meal from home may be sent with your student. Deliveries will not be accepted during lunchtime. This causes an interruption to our operations and presents a safety concern. Please plan your student's meals accordingly so we don't have an interruption during lunchtime. Thank you.

STUDENT DROP OFF & PICK-UP LOCATIONS

  • Avenue 39 Visitor & Staff Parking (Lot 4), which opened this fall
    • Pull in from east- or west-bound Avenue 39, drop your student(s) off along the north boundaries of the lot (on sidewalk side), then exit onto westbound Avenue 39. Students dropped off in this location are asked to utilize the sidewalk that leads to the entrance gate nearest our bus drop off/pick-up location.
  • Knights Stadium (Lot 1)-Access the drop off/pickup lane off of Jefferson Street.
  • Jefferson Street (Lot 2) - This area directly in front of the school on westbound Jefferson Street has been designated for drop off/pickup. Please be sure you use the proper curbside drop off area in front of school so the flow of traffic continues in and out of Lot 2.

VISITOR PARKING & TRAFFIC FLOW

All parking areas for visitors and students have been appropriately marked and designated in lot areas around campus. Education and awareness can improve motorist and student compliance with traffic regulations facilitate good behaviors. It is imperative that we all adhere to the rules to ensure safety, regardless of whether a police officer is present. Parents/guardians may need to allow more time on inclement weather days, when traffic is heavier around SHHS.

Tip: Peak traffic hours around SHHS are 7:20-7:40 a.m. for drop-off and 2:42-3:00 p.m. for pickup. Arriving before 7:20 a.m. for drop off or after 3:30 p.m. for pick-up can significantly reduce your time spent waiting in traffic. Allow more time on inclement weather days.

Our school is in a fringe residential neighborhood, so please make every effort to be respectful of our neighbors' property. This includes not using driveways as turnaround points.

Thank you for helping us to keep our campus safe and improve traffic flow for the benefit of all!
